Brick and stone need masonry anchors set into solid material, and the mount has to clear the mantel so the TV hangs flat. Brick or stone is $35 extra per TV for the masonry anchors and drilling time; drywall above the mantel is the regular posted price.
Height is the other thing to get right. Above a fireplace the screen sits higher than usual, so we talk through the viewing angle before we drill. A tilting mount helps, and if you want the TV to come down to eye level, a pull-down mount is an option — bring your own, or we’ll pick one up at cost. If your mantel gets hot when the fire’s going, we’ll tell you before we mount, because heat isn’t good for a TV.
Cords are the tricky part on masonry. Wire can’t be pulled through brick or stone, so the clean answer is usually an on-wall raceway ($35) down the side. If the TV sits on a drywall section above the mantel, in-wall concealment is often possible: $75 if there’s already an outlet behind the TV, $100 if we bring power up with an in-wall power kit.
